Team Juggernaut was featured in the news. KSL TV Channel 5 in Salt Lake City filmed the Urban Juggernaut and the team's backup vehicle (a HMMWV) driving autonomously. Visit our News page, or go directly to KSL TV's Web site.
DesignJug specializes in the design and development of cost-effective systems to solve complex, multi-discipline problems. One of the company's forefront technologies includes solutions for retrofitting steering-wheel based vehicles for autonomous (no man in the loop), semi-autonomous, or tele-operation driving. The systems combine commercial off-the-shelf hardware, unique electro-mechanical modules and a sophisticated suite of software modules.
The Pronto4 Strap-on Autonomy System
DesignJug successfully competed in the Urban Challenge 2007, "an autonomous vehicle research and development program with the goal of developing technology that will keep warfighters off the battlefield and out of harm’s way. The Urban Challenge featured autonomous ground vehicles maneuvering in a mock city environment, executing simulated military supply missions while merging into moving traffic, navigating traffic circles, negotiating busy intersections, and avoiding obstacles" (DARPA web site).
Located in Salt Lake City, Utah, DesignJug was established by the departing founders of Parvus Corporation, a new school world leader in the implementation of embedded systems for medical, military, and light industrial applications. DesignJug focuses on the creation of high value electronic systems used to solve significant industry problems. DesignJug’s new school approach marries over 20 years of experience in ruggedized systems design and manufacture with contemporary technology and high volume disruptive thought.
